It provides a formal pathway for health providers to address the diverse determinants of health, using the familiar and trusted process of writing a prescription.
Dr. Kate Mulligan leads Canadian Institute for Social Prescribing. She is an Assistant Professor in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, an advisor to the Canadian Red Cross on determinants of health and knowledge mobilization, and a member of the Toronto Board of Health.
