Call for Lived Experiences: WHO Commission on Social Connection (Deadline: May 31, 2024)
The WHO Commission on Social Connection is looking for individuals who have experienced social isolation and loneliness to share their stories, insights, and advice.
Commissioners are committed to lived experience being central to the process and products of the Commission. Your personal perspectives are invaluable in informing our understanding of social isolation and loneliness and how they can be addressed. We invite submissions from diverse groups, including people with disabilities, migrants, LGBTQI+ individuals, populations in remote settings, indigenous peoples, and those affected by humanitarian crises.
We will thoroughly review all submissions and reach out to a select group of individuals to share their stories in more detail through film (joining 6 others in a series called the Social Connection Series). Additionally, we may extend an invitation to those individuals and others to join a panel on lived experience that will review the flagship report of the WHO Commission on Social Connection, scheduled to be published in early 2025.
Your voices are essential in shaping policies and interventions aimed at fostering social connection and combatting loneliness and social isolation. Please consider sharing your story and insights to make a meaningful impact on our communities.
This form will close on 31 May 2024 (Friday).
If you have any questions about this call for lived experiences, or if you have any difficulties filling out this form online, please contact csc@who.int.
