December 3rd – International Day of Persons With Disabilities

An estimated 46% of people aged 60 years and older live with a disability. Persons with

disabilities are less likely to access health care, education, and employment and to participate in the community, and are more likely to live in poverty and be adversely affected by COVID-19 and other life threatening situations. The effects of disability compounded with age can further deepen these challenges and negatively affect health and well-being.

To ensure persons with disabilities are not left behind, an integrated approach to supports and services is required, along with the commitment to advancing equity, and realizing and protecting rights. Here is a variety of information and resources that can help:
