Free energy reduction tools for income-qualified individuals: Energy Conservation Assistance Program and Community Partners Offer (FortisBC, BC Hydro)

news image

The Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP) offered by Fortis BC and BC Hydro is a valuable opportunity for low-income households to save money on home energy costs while also making their homes more comfortable and energy efficient.

ECAP is pleased to announce the new Community Partners Offer (“ECAP CPO”) which has been developed specifically for Community Social Service Organizations (CSSOs) and the clients they assist. This offer asks that the CSSO team discusses the benefits of the ECAP program on behalf of FortisBC with income qualified applicants who are living in single-detached homes, townhomes, duplexes or manufactured homes, and further asks them to assist their clients in applying for and gaining access to the benefits of the Energy Conservation Assistance Program.

In recognition of the support, effort, and resource provided by partner CSSOs to make this program successful FortisBC and BC Hydro will pay an honoraria fee, up to $25 per approved application, to Community Partners that promote ECAP to their clients as well as help clients easily apply for the program.
