[Partner Opportunity] Experiential Learning Opportunities

news image

The University of Alberta School of Public Health is actively seeking community, government, and industry partners to collaborate on experiential learning opportunities with our Master of Public Health (MPH) students.

Our graduate students apply integrated public health knowledge to real-world, complex challenges — from assessment and planning to implementation and evaluation (APAE) — while gaining essential hands-on experience.

Explore the opportunities below and contact Erin Pollock, Director, Experiential Learning to get involved.

We're currently recruiting partners for the following 2026/2027 opportunities:

Public Health Practice Project (SPH 547) - Due August 30!

September – December 2026

Bring a team of 4–5 MPH students into your organization to act as external consultants. In just 13 weeks (approx. 100 hours/student), students will deliver a polished, actionable product tailored to your needs.

Requires some in-person meeting time with students both on and off campus.

Public Health Practice Experience (SPH 598) - Due September 30!

January – April 2027

Gain the full-time support of a student for a 400-hour applied practice placement. Embed public health expertise directly into your team to tackle priority issues.

Evaluation in Public Health Practice (SPH 563) - Due October 30!

January – April 2027

Collaborate with a student team to develop an evaluation framework tailored to your initiative. Ideal for organizations looking to deepen their impact through thoughtful, data-driven assessment.

Why partner with us? You'll gain focused, fresh perspectives and valuable capacity — while helping to shape the next generation of public health professionals.
