[Research Study] The Impact of Climate Change on Older Adults' Mental Health in BC
Looking for older adults living in BC
Dr. Jennifer Baumbusch and her team are recruiting participants for a UBC School of Nursing research study on The Impact of Climate Change on Older Adults' Mental Health in BC. The CCSMH is the lead community partner for this study.
We want to learn more about how climate change and climate-related weather events such as wildfires, floods, and extreme heat are impacting older adults' mental health in BC. You can participate if you consider yourself to be an 'older adult' and you have lived in BC for at least five years.
This study involves photovoice research. This means that participants will share photos that illustrate ways that climate change impacts their mental health. Then, participants will talk with researchers about what the photos mean to them. Participants will be invited to an online workshop at the end of the study to share their stories with people who are involved in climate change policy-making and health care planning.
Don’t have a camera or a computer? You can still participate. Just flag your needs when you contact the researchers.
