Seniors giving back free $300 from feds to worthwhile causes

news image

On July 6, the federal government started sending out $300, tax-free, to 6.7 million seniors who receive Old Age Security (OAS) to help cover the added financial burden caused by COVID-19. Some seniors have said they do not need this money and have decided to donate it to charity. The Seniors Giving Back charity has been created for this purpose - it is a registered charity through CanadaHelps. For more information on this initiative, read these news articles from The Province and BC Local News.
