[Activity] STrength and Balance for Life (STABL) to reduce risk of falls
BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit (BCIRPU) and the BC Ministry of Health – Population and Public Health Division have now completed all components of STrength and Balance for Life (STABL), a set of activity resources that support the well-being and independence of older adults by reducing their risk of falls and fall-related injuries.
STABL resources include:
- Strength and balance activities with videos and instructions;
- Goal-setting guides; and
- A tracking sheet to record progress.
These resources will help you determine whether it's safe to start new physical activity, how to safely engage in physical activity with different conditions/symptoms, and which level to start at. All the STABL resources are available in seven languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Farsi, French, Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Access the resources on HealthLinkBC and on Finding Balance BCs’ YouTube page.
