Evidence and best practices for food security and food programs in BC
This is a review of evidence and best practices for addressing food security in communities. The document is intended to identify effective measures for improving access to, and availability of, healthy, culturally appropriate food within communities. It describes contributing factors of food insecurity and provides recommendations for community food programs that could be most effective in addressing the issue, including short-term and long-term solutions. Challenges and solutions for immigrants and refugees and Indigenous communities are also discussed.Β
