Handbook (for seniors): Healthy Eating for Seniors
Healthy Eating for Seniors, developed by the British Columbia Ministry of Health, addresses many of the barriers to healthy eating: time, effort, knowledge and skills, taste and cost. It will help seniors make decisions about healthy eating. This handbook addresses food safety, which is key for promoting health, and includes information about supplements and how to eat with a chronic disease. It also offers you simple ways to eat with less fat and salt, to shop for healthy food on a budget and to read labels
This is the updated 2017 version which was a collaborative project between the BC Centre for Disease Control and the Ministry of Health.
*Multilingual: This handbook is available in French, Chinese, and Punjabi: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/family-social-supports/seniors/health-safety/active-aging/healthy-eating/healthy-eating-for-seniors-handbook
