Help4HepBC: Peer-to-peer helpline for those living with Hepatitis C
In BC, it is estimated that 65% of people with the hep C virus are between the ages of 55 and 75 (or 3% of older adults in the province), and often, over 40% of people with the virus do not know they have it as it can take years even decades to cause symptoms. Hepatitis C is curable when treated.
Help4HepBC is a peer-to-peer helpline where Peer Navigators work with callers to meet the challenges of hepatitis C head-on. Callers talk one-to-one with a real person, typically someone who’s had hepatitis C touch their own life. Callers talk about the specifics of their particular situation. The phone call, support and information are confidential and free of charge. Standard text message rates may apply.
