[Rural Transportation] Helicopter without Borders

resource image

Approximately 19% of Canadians reside in remote or rural areas. Many of these communities are situated hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of kilometres from the nearest medical facility.

Helicopters Without Borders (HWB) believes everyone, regardless of location, should have access to basic and comprehensive health care.

Since 2021, HWB has been delivering health and wellness services to remote and rural communities in British Columbia. Many of the communities HWB works with have minimal or no road access. Their services reach nearly 3,000 people annually, with offerings ranging from primary care, patient transport, disaster response, and food security programs.
