This webinar, presented by United Way BC’s Seniors Housing Working Group, will provide an overview of the findings of the recently released report Aging in Uncertainty: The Growing Housing Crisis for BC Seniors. The report was developed in response to frontline CBSS organizations who were alarmed by the escalating number of seniors facing homelessness later in life. Drawing upon statistical data and interview findings, the report highlights the critical issue of seniors struggling to secure affordable housing in the face of soaring living costs, stagnant government retirement incomes, and a shortage of affordable housing. The webinar will also feature frontline service providers discussing what the housing affordability crisis for seniors looks like in their communities and how the report can be leveraged for advocacy. At the end of the session there will be a Q&A and discussion period.
