Webinar Recording: Self-Management Programs – What’s In Them For You?
Have you wondered about the many program options Self-Management BC currently offers, what happens in them, benefits to persons having difficulty managing their health, their family members & friends, and how active self-management can better support their involvement with health care providers, service organizations and in the community?
People living with ongoing physical or mental health conditions may know things they could or should be doing to improve their lives, but it can be hard to get started and keep going as problems arise. Self-Management BC offers FREE programs that are evidence based, proven to increase participants’ confidence and motivation to engage in self-care and make changes that lead to improved health outcomes. Delivered by trained peers and highly interactive, participants learn information, self-management tools and strategies to help them cope with day to day physical and emotional challenges, work more effectively with their care providers, and become active self-managers. They build skills and receive support to practice decision-making, problem-solving, and taking steps towards goals of their own choosing each week. Arrange of program options are available throughout BC: www.selfmanagementbc.ca
