[Webinar] Making Rental Housing Affordable for Seniors and People with Low-Incomes
Since the release of the seniors housing report Aging in Uncertainty: The Growing Housing Crisis for BC Seniors last November the Seniors' Housing Working Group continues to hear about the urgent need to address housing affordability in BC and the importance of developing resources to support local community advocacy in the lead up to the election on October 19th and for ongoing advocacy purposes.
Over the last eight months, we have updated our research on the need for affordable housing for low-income seniors and other low-income British Columbians. Based on feedback we have developed two fact sheets on subsidized rent-geared-to-income housing, one focusing specifically on seniors and the other on the broader need for this type of housing for low-income people in BC.
Please join us for a one-hour webinar on September 18th at 1pm when these two facts sheets will be shared and then followed by a discussion on possible strategies for advocating for affordable housing for low-income peoples.
