[Webinar Series] Housing that Connects Us: The Benefits of Being an Enabling Host
Hey Neighbour Collective and United Way BC are co-hosting a webinar on Tuesday, April 14th, from 11 am - 1 pm PST, and we thought you might be interested!
In this webinar, titled The Benefits of Being an Enabling Host, you will hear from community-based organizations that deliver in-building programming designed to foster neighbourly connections, strengthen social resilience, and support residents’ sense of belonging throughout different stages of life, helping residents age in place. Learn how these programs help create welcoming, engaged multi-unit housing communities where people feel connected and supported.
You’ll also hear from rental housing operators who are acting as enabling hosts: partnering with community-based organizations and supporting social programming to build mutual support and shared benefits for both residents and landlords.
They’ve got an incredible line-up of speakers and panellists, including:
- Catherine Donnelly (Oasis)
- Kathrin Brunner (NORC Innovation Centre)
- Jamie Hewat (Brightside)
- Rebeca Robles (New Chelsea Society)
- Sherri Crane (Brightside)
- Michelle Hoar (Hey Neighbour Collective)
This 2-hour webinar is participatory, offering space to share your own work and experiences and to take part in facilitated discussions with presenters and experts.
Please note: If a participatory format is not something you have the capacity for, you are welcome to attend only the presentations, panel discussion, and Q&A, which will conclude by 12:15 pm PST.
